The end of the course is now upon us but unlike previous courses this is the last one you will be completing, and so it is time to leave your mark in the English learning environment.

Now that you can express yourself in so many ways using the English language, you will have the opportunity to express an idea you might have and, in a sense, publish it for everyone else to consult.

Select that one thing you are really good at and develop an article about it in which you present, highlight or show others what it is and why they should take the time to learn more about it.

For the duration of this task you are reporters for the online magazine Parlante Magazine.



1. TASK DESCRIPTION
  • Make an article using any media available for the Internet in which you report, explain, recommend or review on a topic of choice.
  • This task may be done individually or in small teams.
2. WHAT I NEED

The requirement will vary according to the type of media you select. This is a generic list:

  • A topic to report on
  • Any additional resources to enrich your knowledge
  • Devices required to produce the article in the format of choice

4. STEPS TO FOLLOW
  1. Select the topic you will work with.
  2. Take notes on the experience and knowledge you have on it
  3. Research complimentary information
  4. Brainstorm and outline your ideas on the topic
  5. Create the article in the media of choice
  6. Publish it in the social network group before the specified deadline
5. HOW WILL I KNOW I HAVE FINISHED?
  1. I have made an article on a topic of choice.
  2. I have posted the file on the social network group.
6. HOW WILL I PRESENT THIS IN CLASS?

Everyone can freely choose the media in which they want to present their article. However, each file type does have specific requirements which are explained below.

  1. WRITTEN ARTICLE
    1. use any popular word processor (Microsoft Word or Google Document)
    2. the article may have a maximum of two photos
    3. if you include photos in the document
      1. include the photos in your writing
      2. also, post the photos as separate files
    4. DO NOT USE fancy backgrounds in your document
  2. VIDEO ARTICLE
    1. write a one paragraph introduction to your video
    2. publish your video and paragraph
  3. AUDIO ARTICLE
    1. write a one paragraph introduction to your audio article
    2. publish your audio and paragraph
  4. PRESENTATION ARTICLE
7. HOW WILL THIS TASK BE EVALUATED

This task is the third of three contained in Unit 7. The values presented here are partial to the 50% grade value the unit has in addition to the Learning Journal and Ongoing Evaluation.

The task evaluation will be based on how well the idea is developed in the presented article.
